Can't Quite Reach the Stretch You Need?

There's only so far you can stretch on your own — your own muscles fight back to protect you. Stretch Therapy is guided, hands-on stretching where your therapist safely moves your body through a deeper range of motion than you could reach alone, while you simply relax and let it happen.

Quick Facts

  • Increases flexibility and range of motion
  • Improves circulation and eases muscle tension
  • Can reduce pain caused by tight or overactive muscles
  • You stay passive — your therapist does the work

What Makes Stretch Therapy Different

Unlike stretching on your own, Stretch Therapy is a fully guided, hands-on technique. Your therapist safely moves your limbs and joints through their range of motion — sometimes with static holds, sometimes with gentle movement, and sometimes using proprioceptive techniques that ask you to briefly engage a muscle before it releases further than it would otherwise.

You typically stay clothed, and there's no oil involved — the work is about movement and range, not pressure on the tissue itself.

Stretch Therapy Is Great For

  • Tight hips, hamstrings, or calves
  • Limited range of motion in a joint
  • Stiffness from sitting or repetitive movement
  • Recovery after activity or sport
  • Improving posture
  • Preparing your body before travel or an event
  • General stress and tension relief
  • Supporting mobility as you age
  • Anyone who wants a deeper stretch than they can reach solo

What to Expect During Your Session

Check-In & Communication

Your therapist asks about your mobility, any tight areas, past injuries, and what you'd like to focus on before beginning.

Comfortable Positioning

You'll typically stay clothed and lie or sit on the table while your therapist supports your limbs and moves you through each stretch.

Guided Movement

Your therapist gently deepens each stretch, checking in with you as they go — you're encouraged to breathe and let your muscles release rather than actively pushing.

Ongoing Feedback

Stretch sensation can range from mild to intense, so you're encouraged to speak up throughout so your therapist can adjust depth and pace to what feels productive, not painful.

Progress Over Time

Some flexibility gains show up right away, but consistent range-of-motion improvement tends to build with repeated sessions.

After Your Session

You'll likely feel looser and move more freely right away. Drink water, keep moving gently for the rest of the day, and notice how your range of motion feels over the next day or two. Mild muscle soreness is possible, similar to how you'd feel after a good workout, and should pass quickly.

  • Have joint instability or a hypermobility condition without medical clearance
  • Have severe osteoporosis or fragile bones
  • Have active inflammation, infection, or an unexplained acute pain flare

If you're unsure whether Stretch Therapy is right for you, we're happy to answer questions or help you consult your physician first.
